Becoming Better Together is a passion project of the Reverend Lawrence J \u201cLJ\u201d Stevens which grows out of his experiences with the severe and sometimes suicidal depression and other issues related to homelessness after becoming homeless due to severe, chronic health problems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Based in part on Henri Nowen\u2019s concept of \u201cwounded healers\u201d as those best qualified to show God\u2019s compassion to others, it is firmly based in the Biblical teachings of how we are to show God\u2019s loving kindness to those on the fringes of society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As such, Becoming Better is the Reverend Stevens way of \u201cpaying forward\u201d the help he received from the health care and social service professionals got him through the worst of the crisis and are continuing to help him regain his health and rebuild his life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As of this writing, 25 October 2024, Becoming Better Together has been entirely funded by the Reverend Stevens by diverting monies from his meager funds from other, to him, less important items in order to have the money required to launch Becoming Better.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Unfortunately, neither he nor those helping him with the project have the funds necessary to go much further. And need your help funding the project so that we can launch it and, as one of Nowen\u2019s \u201cwounded healers,\u201d LJ can begin helping others heal and rebuild their lives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Any financial or other assistance you can give – including joining those who are helping with the project and donating items like leathercraft tools, hardware, and supplies – would be greatly appreciated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
All financial assistance be deposited in a bank count which is being setup for the project, and will go entirely to helping us help others heal and rebuild their lives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
